2024/25 Premier League
Matchday 37
Aston Villa v Tottenham Hotspur
Villa Park
Birmingham, England
Friday, 16 May 2025
Kick-off is at 20h30
Aston Villa will be looking to extend Tottenham Hotspur's winless run in the
Premier League when they meet at Villa Park on 16 May.
Current Form
The Villans are on a two-match unbeaten run in the English top-flight, having emerged as 1-0 winners against AFC Bournemouth away on 10 May.
Villa are also undefeated in their last 17 home matches in the league, having registered seven draws and 10 victories at Villa Park.
Meanwhile, Tottenham succumbed to a 2-0 defeat to Crystal Palace at home on 11 May and they are winless in their last five matches in the Premier League.
Spurs are also winless in their last five away matches in the league, having registered four consecutive defeats and one draw as the visitors.
Team News
Villa will be without the suspended Jacob Ramsey, while his teammates Youri Tielemans and Marcus Rashford are both currently injured.
Tottenham, on the other hand, have no suspension concerns, but Radu Dragusin, Lucas Bergvall and James Maddison are all on the club's injury list.
Quotes
“We have to keep going. We got Europe last week against Fulham at home and today against Bournemouth, teams that are competing very well and performing very well," Villa manager Unai Emery said after his side's win over Bournemouth.
"They were fighting with us as their opponent. They were an opponent for us to get Europe. Now we’re in the run-in with the teams fighting for the Champions League after the way we did last week and the win we had today.
“We’re deserving to play the next match against Tottenham, having the possibility to be there, taking even more in the Europa League or the Champions League.”
Head-to-Head
Tottenham hammered Villa 4-1 in their last meeting in the league, which was on 3 November at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
As a result, Spurs are undefeated in their last two Premier League matches against the Villans, having registered two back-to-back wins.
